I hired Mark Cairns to entertain at our retail winter showcase at The Grove in NW London. One of our management team had seen Mark doing his mind reading at another event and recommended that we hire him. I wasn’t sure what having a “mind reader” along to our evening dinner would entail, but suffice to say Mark’s act was unlike that of any other performer I’ve ever seen, and it was perfect for our key retail buyers. If you have guests you want to delight and entertain then I suggest you hire Mark.
I observed Mark in action with senior management and he was absolutely amazing. His observations and his effects left them dumbfounded. Such a skill could leave people feeling transparent and/or stupid, but Mark is funny and charismatic and made people feel comfortable and relaxed. We fretted and fussed about what we could do to make my husband's 60th birthday an event that everyone would remember. We needed a magnet to pull together all those disparate groups of assorted friends, relatives and business colleagues — someone who could encourage cross-cultural conversation and make the socially nervous into bold socialites. Thankfully, we found Mark. He moved around the party performing mind games that truly astonished. It was quite different from anything I have ever seen before. Each 'exercise' seemed simple in its initial phase but then he added layers that defied our comprehension. Everyone will remember the party because they will remember Mark. I am hoping that one day soon I will have a chance to organise another party with Mark in the spotlight. In the meantime, I will be sure to tell anyone organising an event that they must include Mark's quite unique entertainment skills.
Having Mark there really added a special touch to the day. Mark was incredibly professional and yet really good fun. People are still talking about him and are still mystified — although wild theories abound! I would not hesitate in recommending that people hire Mark for their wedding or other special occasions. He is both excellent and a thoroughly nice person who contributed in no small part in making our wedding day a day to remember. I have no doubt we'll meet again — just as soon as the Best Man (Tim) gets his act together and asks his girlfriend to marry him!
